Specific topics include climate, quadrupeds, birds, reptiles, fish, insects, flora, fossils, trade and produce, trading procedures with Native American tribes, European settlers in Hudson's Bay, text of the original Hudson Bay Company charter, attempts to discover the Northwest Passage, and thermometer readings at several Hudson's Bay forts, 1769-1775. A five page index is at back. Accompanied by an incomplete holograph note by George Catlin concerning the volume's authorship and provenance.
